What do I do if flood water got into my fireplace?

If any flood water got into your fireplace, it will need to be removed/replaced, per the manufacturer. If you are not sure if water got into the unit, Perfection can do an assessment for $75.00. (If you already know that water got into the unit, there is no need to pay for an assessment.)

What are my options if flood water got into my fireplace?

The fireplace will need to be replaced. If Perfection installed the fireplace originally, we can look at our records to see what fireplace you need and can begin the quote process. In some cases, we will need to inspect the home before quoting.

If Perfection did not install the fireplace originally, we will need the model number and a serial number of the fireplace in order to see if we can assist you.

When will I get a quote?

Once we are able to determine what kind of fireplace you need to have replaced, you will receive a quote in 3 to 5 days. Please be patient as we are dealing with a lot of flooded fireplaces at this time.

How do I get scheduled for install?

Once we receive payment via credit card, we can get you on the schedule for removal/replacement of your fireplace. We will send you a credit card form that you can complete and email back, or we can take your credit card information over the phone. Please make sure to reference the Quote Number at the bottom of your quote when making payment.

What do I need to do to prepare for the removal/install of my fireplace?

Before Perfection can remove your fireplace, all finishing material and sheetrock will need to be removed from around the unit and the gas will need to be disconnected and capped by a plumber. Once the new fireplace is installed, the gas will have to be reconnected by a plumber and electric connections made by an electrician (if applicable).

NOTE: If you are getting a different fireplace than was originally installed, or if you had to reframe due to damage to your home, you will need to be sure that all framing dimensions are correct. We will send you the framing dimensions for your new fireplace along with the quote. Please be sure to show these to your contractor and please pay special attention to the information included about correct mantel heights. Some mantel heights have changed over time for the same fireplace.
